1. How have your artistic skills grown during the first few weeks of art?
I don't believe my artistic skills have actually grown, but I think my process of coming up with ideas has. I think that over time my artistic skills may improve so that I can create the ideas that I have, but until then, I have trouble conveying my thoughts on paper. Drawing is not my strong suit, so it will probably take a while for me to improve in that field of art. I am, however, constantly exploring new techniques and styles of crochet. I love to crochet, and enjoy expressing art in that form because it seems to come naturally to me.
2. How do you find inspiration and develop your ideas? What resources or strategies do you use?
I often use Pinterest (The world of creative people) to help inspire my ideas for art. A big inspiration I use in my art is nature. My favorite parts of nature include flowers and trees. I appreciate both the simplicity and complexity of these organisms, and the variety they come in. I am often inspired by the various textures, colors, shapes, and sizes of flowers and trees, and often incorporate these aspects in my art.
3. What successes or challenges have you experienced so far in art 2?
One of my main challenges I've faced so far is drawing, or putting my ideas down on paper. I'm terrible at drawing or doing anything with a pencil, so I often find it difficult to put my ideas on paper. I do, however, enjoy coming up with ideas of art to create. I think the topics that are chosen in this class are creative and broad enough for me to make something unique and my own.
