The left photo is what I based my sculpture on, and the right is my final product.
The piece that inspired me from the museum was one I found while walking outside on the path. There was a small patch of trees with chairs hanging and intertwined in them. At first, I was intrigued by the concept and idea of the sculpture. I wanted to base my art piece of this chair forest, but I wasn't sure how to apply the elements into an original piece. So I began to think of specific elements and concepts that were involved, and thought of how the piece incorporated organic and man made elements. The chairs, being made of wood, were mixed with the organic element, and original source of the chairs, trees. With this in mind, I decided to create a piece with yarn, and create a sheep to represent where the yarn came from (wool). So by incorporating the element of man made materials (Yarn), I created a sculpture of the organic source of that man made material.
I FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES IN THE PROCESS OF CREATING MY SHEEP. I apologize.
