Planning:
To begin, I knew that I wanted to use clay as my medium because I've enjoyed the malleability and options that come with using it. I had no idea what shape I should make the piece at first, but I did know that I wanted to separate it into three pieces. After considering many designs, I settled on creating a tree with a swing. I wanted the image to be simple as a whole, but still incorporate an attention to detail.

The finished product is a low relief of a tree with a swing hanging from a branch. Completing this piece involved using a lot of the score/slip technique, and it ended up being very tedious work. I learned more about watercolors and how they mix with clay during this project, and if I could do this again, I would have blended the watercolors better. I am, however, very pleased with the look of the glazed tree and everything else watercolor. I like the pop of color in the background. Overall, I'm satisfied with my piece, but I don't like the lack of clean lines and matching parts. Overall Satisfaction Rating : 4/5
